------------
Introduction
------------

HLamp is a small Winamp plugin that allows Half-Life players to control
Winamp from inside Half-Life using the command menu or a text-based
script. HLamp also includes a scripting system, auto-pausing features,
an in-game display system, and more!

------------
Installation
------------

This readme file contains basic instructions for installing HLamp. Because
these instructions are basic they cannot explain every feature and option
in HLamp. For a complete list of features and information on using the
features visit the HLamp support site at:

    http://www.hlamp.com/support.php

------------
Requirements
------------

* Operating System:
Any version of Microsoft Windows should work fine.

* Half-Life:
Half-Life 1.1.1.0 (the latest version at the time of this release)

HLamp will not work in Software Video Mode!

* Winamp:
I strongly recommend using Winamp 2.91, but HLamp can work with Winamp
3.0 through the use of another component. Visit the Known Issues page
on the HLamp website for more details on possible problems with using
  HLamp with Winamp 3.

---------------------------
Installing with Winamp 2.91
---------------------------

 1. Make sure Winamp is not running!
 2. Extract all of HLamp's files to C:\HLamp.
 3. Copy C:\HLamp\gen_hlamp.dll to C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins.
 4. Copy C:\HLamp\Command Menus\your_mods_name\commandmenu.txt to your
    mod's directory (e.g. C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\cstrike).
 5. Run Winamp and load a song.
 6. Run Half-Life and bind a key to +commandmenu. The default in
Counter-Strike is H. To bind a key type "bind h +commandmenu" in the
    console and press <ENTER>.
 7. Press the key you bound to +commandmenu and use the Winamp menu
    to control Winamp.

---------------------------
Installing with Winamp 3.00
---------------------------

 1. Make sure Winamp is not running!
 2. Extract all of HLamp's files to C:\HLamp.
 3. Download and install the Winamp 2x Plugin Manager from
    http://www.hlamp.com/php-bin/download.php?file=wa2pluginmanager
 4. Copy C:\HLamp\Command Menus\your_mods_name\commandmenu.txt to your
    mod's directory (e.g. C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\cstrike).
 5. Run Winamp.
 6. While in Winamp, press Ctrl+P. In the window that pops up, scroll down
on the left and select Winamp 2x Plugins from the list.
 7. Go to the Plugin Path tab. Enter C:\HLamp in the New Search Path box
    and click the Add button.
 8. Restart Winamp and go back to the Winamp 2x Plugins area. You will
either see Plugin Not Loaded or HLamp 1.30 in the list of General
Plugins. If you see Plugin Not Loaded, click on that text and then
    click the Load button.
 9. Close the Winamp preferences window and load some songs in Winamp.
10. Run Half-Life and bind a key to +commandmenu. The default in
Counter-Strike is H. To bind a key type "bind h +commandmenu" in the
